Amazon Kindle is a software and hardware platform developed by Amazon.com to do the rendering process, as an ebook reader and other digital media. This ebook reader  is known by the name “Kindle”, “Kindle 2″, “Kindle 3″, and “Kindle DX” supports this platform.  Amazon Kindle has a software application for Microsoft Windows, IOS, BlackBerry, Mac OS X and Android. The First Generation Amazon Kindle, only released in the United States on November 19, 2007. New hardware device, third-generation Kindle with 3G support for use in 100 countries and territories, announced on July 28, 2010.

Amazon Kindle hardware using E Ink screen brand electronic paper that has 16 shades of gray. Wirelessly download content over Amazon Whispernet uses Sprint’s EVDO network in the United States. New Kindle two devices using AT & T network and roaming partners for international wireless access. Kindle hardware is used without a computer connection, and Amazon Whispernet is accessible without a subscription monthly fee or wireless. All models Kindle (unless Kindle Wi-Fi) provides free access to the Internet in the United States through the cellular network. Kindle does not maintain the number of pages printed edition is used to create and verify the sources, references and quotations.

Through a technology called “Whispersync”, customers can connect the reading progress, bookmarks, and other information through the hardware Kindle and other mobile devices.

Amazon Kindle Kindle DX announced on May 6, 2009. This device has a larger screen than its predecessor and supports a simple PDF file. Kindle is also the thinnest, most comprehensive and offers an accelerometer, which allows users to seamlessly play yard between landscape and portrait orientation when Kindle DX enabled on his side. It is marketed as more suitable to display the content of newspapers and books.

Amazon Kindle was released for free PC application, which allows users to read Kindle books on Amazon’s Windows PC. Then release a version for Macintosh. A version for mobile devices running on operating systems from Research in Motion, Apple and Google are also available for free.

Storage: 4GB internal (approximately 3.3GB available for user content).

Battery Life: Read on a single charge for up to 1 week with wireless on. Turn wireless off and read for two to three weeks. Battery life will vary based on wireless usage, such as shopping the Kindle Store and downloading content. In low-coverage areas or in EDGE/GPRS-only coverage, wireless usage will consume battery power more quickly.

Charge Time: Fully charges in approximately 4.5 hours via the included U.S. power adapter. Also supports charging from your computer via the included USB 2.0 cable.

Connectivity: HSDPA modem (3G) with a fallback to EDGE/GPRS; utilizes Amazon Whispernet to provide wireless coverage via AT&T’s 3G high-speed data network in the U.S. and partner networks outside of the U.S.

USB Port: USB 2.0 (micro-USB connector) for connection to the Kindle DX power adapter or optionally to connect to a PC or Macintosh computer.

Audio: 3.5mm stereo audio jack, built-in stereo speakers.

Content Formats Supported: Kindle (AZW), PDF, TXT, Audible (formats 4, Audible Enhanced (AAX)), MP3, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively; HTML, DOC, RTF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP through conversion.

Included Accessories: U.S. power adapter (supports 100V-240V), USB 2.0 cable, rechargeable battery. 

Warranty and Service: 1-year limited warranty and service included. Optional 2-year Extended Warranty available for U.S. customers sold separately.
